AID FOR UKRAINE

The purpose of this document is to provide a brief overview of Aid for Ukraine, a fundraising project to support humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine, and to seek guidance and assistance for the necessities to host and proceed with the activities described below.

Currently, there is no shortage of news about the Russian attack on Ukraine. These senseless attacks have caused the deaths and injuries of hundreds of innocent civilians, left no choice but for many ordinary citizens both men and women to take up arms to defend their homes, created restrictions on students in Ukraine, and heartbreakingly split apart families. There are many people who are unaware of the reasons why Russia has started a war against Ukraine and we aim to spread awareness and support for Ukraine.

Personally, as a South Korean citizen, I, Connor Kim, am aware of my home country’s history of being invaded by others. That is why I feel like I can relate to the citizens of Ukraine. I was not alive when Korea was invaded, but have seen the aftermath of lasting trauma and pain in those who endured the Korean War and Japanese Colonialism. I wish to do what I can to help in whatever way I can, no matter how small.  

• Promote awareness of the crisis in Ukraine 
• Support victims of war, refugees, and displaced individuals

• Make a video about the causes of the war, its effect on Ukraine and its citizens, and its effect on people around the world in order to raise money.  
• Raise money:  

               o Sell hand sanitizers  

               o Request donations  

• Send proceeds to an organization that supports the people of Ukraine. 
• Write and send letters of support, including prayers for the people of Ukraine. 

Our desire is for people to be more aware of the horrific impacts of a military attack on a sovereign Democratic nation. We will use our informational video to promote awareness of the Russian invasion and the devastating impacts on civilians. Our goal is to encourage people to donate money to support on-the-ground humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
